How to Pick a Palworld Breeding Calculator
Seven checks for judging any Palworld breeding calculator: data source, game version, both directions, route planning, passive odds, honesty on mutations, speed.
Updated from the game data

Short answer: A good Palworld breeding calculator uses data extracted from the game files, shows the game version it was built for, works both ways (parents to child, child to parents), plans routes from the Pals you own, labels estimates honestly, and loads fast without sign-up.
Several Palworld breeding calculators exist, and they do not all behave the same. These seven checks work for any of them. Under each check is how PalBreeder handles it, so you can verify the claim yourself.
1. Where does the data come from?
Prefer tools that extract breeding data from the game files over charts typed in by hand, because hand-made charts drift after patches.
PalBreeder: PalBreeder uses data extracted from the game files by PalCalc (MIT). See the methodology.
2. Which game version is it built for?
A calculator should say which version and data date it uses. Palworld 1.0 added Pals and changed breeding power for some of them.
PalBreeder: The footer and every guide show the data snapshot date, and What Changed lists what differs between versions.
3. Does it work both ways?
You should be able to pick two parents and see the child, and pick a target Pal and see every parent pair.
PalBreeder: The breeding calculator has both tabs, and every Pal page lists all of its parent pairs.
4. Can it plan a route from the Pals you own?
Knowing a recipe is not enough if you do not own the parents. A route planner finds the fewest breedings.
PalBreeder: The path finder plans the shortest route from your Pals, and the breeding tree shows alternatives.
5. Does it cover passive skills and IVs?
Species is only half of breeding. Look for passive and IV inheritance odds, and for a clear note when they are estimates.
PalBreeder: The odds planner shows the chance per egg, labelled as a community-tested estimate.
6. Is it honest about what is unknown?
Mutations arrived with 1.0 and the game does not publish their odds. A trustworthy tool says so instead of inventing numbers.
PalBreeder: The mutations page separates what is confirmed from community estimates.
7. Is it fast, free and easy to use?
No sign-up, no ads in the way, and a mobile-friendly page that works offline once loaded.
PalBreeder: PalBreeder is free with no account, installable as an app, and has a free JSON API for developers.
